Brisbane Supplier Spotlight: Banging Hangin’ – Bringing the Party Vibes to Your Wedding 🎉

Welcome to a new series where I’m spotlighting some of the best local wedding suppliers in Brisbane! First up: Banging Hangin’ — the go-to team for epic wedding installations that seriously set the tone for an unforgettable day. I first saw their incredible work at The Refinery and was blown away! Not only are their creations stunning, but they’re also proudly zero waste — making them an eco-friendly choice for your big day. If you’ve ever walked into a wedding and been immediately wowed by a jaw-dropping ceremony backdrop or a perfectly styled photo moment — chances are, it was them.

I had a chat with Sarah about how she started Banging Hangin’, the magic behind their work, and why a spritzy cocktail sums it all up.

Thanks
@joshuamikhaiel for the epic pics below!

How did Banging Hangin’ get started?

My partner and I got married in 2015. It was a very DIY crafty affair, and the first generation of Bangers was born here. About 6 months later, my mate (Cassie) who catered the wedding (Firecracker Events) suggested we do a bar pop-up together with the bangers. We did. It was a fabulously outrageous success. From her established following, mine began!

What’s your favourite wedding moment to create?

I mean, the ceremony moment is pretty amazing. It’s like creating a really elaborate stage that focuses everyone’s gaze on the most vulnerable yet heartwarming moment of a couple. It’s an amazing photo moment that naturally becomes a space where family and friends continue to snap pics for the rest of the evening.

If Banging Hangin’ was a cocktail…

Something spritzy, fun, and refreshing on impact — maybe with a delightful edible treat at the end. The link? Our installs are awe-inspiring on arrival and get better through the night with the introduction of lighting and the air movement from all the no-doubt hip-thrusting dance moves fanning the air around. Ha!

Funniest wedding moment?

Given that we’re not there when all the good stuff goes down, it’s usually the photos we see post-event that are evidence of a good party. Age-defying dance moves, split pants, wardrobe malfunctions — all good signs in my eyes.

Best advice for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t feel pressured to include people or things that don’t serve you as a couple. Life is too short — fuck tradition.

major photo-worthy moments, hit up Banging Hangin’. Trust me — they’ll have your guests talking about it for years.
