📄 WHAT ARE THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS TO GET MARRIED IN AUSTRALIA?
Here’s the lowdown:
Lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least 1 month before your wedding
You must both be over 18
Not already legally married
Say a few legal words during the ceremony (I’ll guide you through it)
It sounds like a lot, but don’t stress – I’ll walk you through every step.

Most of my ceremonies run for about 20–25 minutes – just enough time for the love, the laughs, and the legal bits before the party kicks off.

Can a celebrant legally marry you in Australia?
Yes! I’m authorised by the Attorney-General’s Department to make your marriage legal. (That’s the boring but important bit.)
Do we need witnesses for a wedding in QLD?
Yes, two witnesses over the age of 18 are required to sign your paperwork.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes please! I’ll help you shape them if you’re stuck – and if public speaking terrifies you, I’ve got gentle ways to support you.
